About
Inspiration
Jotaria (/ˌdʒɒtˈɑːriə/) is inspired by Meditations, the private writings of Marcus Aurelius. He never meant his notes to be read by others, they were reminders to himself. A way to practice steadiness, humility, and gratitude. We might not be Roman emperors, but his words and struggles still resonate with us. Aurelius did not know the profound impact his words could or would have on the lives of others. And I believe this to be true of all of us.
Can you be totally honest with yourself, and write it down? Will you feel something reading others writings? Can we learn from others thoughts? Can the seemingly random and disconnected experiences of strangers help us navigate our own lives? We don't often talk to each other about our experiences, thoughts, emotions or feelings, and when we do, it's usually to a select few. While we're all unique, we have similarities - the challenges that we experience in life, despite how personal they may feel, are often shared by others.
And so on that note, I invite you to pause and write for yourself, but also for others. Not for likes or upvotes, but for self-reflection. Each note becomes a page in a shared book of human experience, a quiet collection of highs, lows, and wisdoms. Perhaps your thoughts today will have a profound effect on someone else.
The spirit of Jotaria also draws from the rhythms of a journal: unhurried, contemplative, meant to be revisited. In a world where social media rewards our brains by releasing dopamine through karma, likes, and instant gratification, this project emphasizes slowness, presence, and timelessness. It is a place where words breathe, where you can stumble on a thought that feels as though it was written just for you, whether yesterday or a year ago.

TLDR; I believe that we all carry fragments of wisdom worth keeping, and that by collecting them, we can create a living anthology of the everyday meditations that guide us through life.
